ABOUT ME
Kylie Anderson;
Child & Youth Care Practitioner

I've always been passionate about working with children and youth, especially the ones who need a little extra guidance.

I pursued this passion by enrolling in Georgian College in 2015. Three years later, I graduated with honours from their Child & Youth Care Program.

With this education, I have been trained in the art of therapeutic interventions, counselling, family dynamics, and cognitive/mental health disorders.

Over the years, I have narrowed my area of expertise to aid children and youth with behavioural issues revolving around Autism, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome, Impulse Control Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and High Anxiety. Essentially, any diagnosis that entails challenging behaviours.
MY APPROACH
Competent & Capable
My personal belief is that there is no such thing as a bad child. Every child is capable of engaging in positive and desired behaviours. Some just require extra help to do so.

As a CYC, my job is to provide those children with that help. I do so by working closely with parents to develop individualized plans that they can implement with their child on a daily basis.

These plans meet children where they're at, setting them up for a successful journey, empowering the mindset that they are indeed competent and capable to be their best self.

MY PHILOSOPHY
Accessibility for everyone.
Throughout my career, I've come to realize that a parent's ability to access help for their child is greatly limited. This is due to extensive waitlists, which hinders the ability to get help in a timely manor. This is the very reason I developed my own practice.

I believe everyone is deserving of adequate help when they need it. Therefore, Bridge the Gap Family Resources provides accessible resources for parents/families, without limitation.

This means that in order to receive my services, I do NOT require a referral or clinical diagnosis for your child.

With this said, if you're in need of help to manage your child's challenging behaviour, all you need to do is reach out. That's it! Let's connect and create a plan together to help your child reach their full potential.
